Welcome to the Midwest Free Community Papers
In 1955 a small group of Iowa shopper publishers got together to form a trade
association, Midwest Free Community Papers (MFCP). Their goal was to help each
other by providing a way for members to meet and discuss common problems. Little
did they know that this, one of the first such organization in existence, would
grow to today’s level. In 1982 MFCP started a classified network to allow
advertisers to run classified ads throughout their membership at a discounted
rate.
The Midwest Classified Network has a circulation totaling over 2.9 million,
and there are 114 participating publications across 12 states here in the Midwest.
